Terrain Shorts Linen

Lightweight linen construction combining a finer linen base with coarse hemp-linen patches, creating a contrast in texture and weight. Relaxed, knee-length fit with belt loops, button and zip fly. Two side pockets, two large front zip pockets and two flap pockets at the back. Raw-edged natural patches are applied across the sides, leaving the fibres exposed and emphasizing the material contrast.

The construction draws from reused jute sacks traditionally employed for transporting coffee, fruit and agricultural goods. Their coarse fibres, irregular surfaces and visible repairs inform the raw patches applied directly onto the cleaner linen base. Different materials coexist without being refined into a uniform surface, preserving the character of utility textiles shaped by handling, transport and reuse. A functional garment built around material contrast, repair and the idea of giving existing forms and fabrics a second purpose.
