Relaxed wide-leg silhouette with mid-rise waist, belt loops, button and zip fly. Front pleats, two side pockets and two back flap pockets. Horizontal panel construction across the legs and turned-up hems reinforce the garment’s utilitarian character.

Inspired by Japanese military off-duty uniforms and the clothing worn by soldiers outside formal service. The design explores the point where regulation gives way to personal comfort: functional trousers retaining the proportions and construction of a uniform while becoming softer, wider and more relaxed through everyday use. The washed corduroy adds a sense of age and familiarity, referencing garments repeatedly worn beyond their original function. A study of uniform, utility and the transition from military discipline to everyday life.
