Knitwear Spiral Moss

Heavyweight knit construction with a large spiral graphic developed across the entire body and sleeves in black, moss green and muted brown. Relaxed silhouette with ribbed crewneck, cuffs and hem. Distressed openings and loose yarns are distributed throughout the garment, interrupting the graphic and giving the knit an intentionally worn and unfinished character.

Inspired by vintage hippie knitwear, handmade garments and the visual culture of the counterculture movement. The oversized spiral references recurring symbols of cycles, nature, transformation and spiritual movement, while the earthy palette connects the garment to natural dyes and aged textiles. Loose threads and distressed areas suggest a piece preserved and repeatedly worn over time rather than a newly produced object. A study of counterculture, symbolism and the imperfect character of handmade clothing.
